Removing Financial Barriers to Music Education

2nd Chance Instruments is an Orion Area Youth Assistance program designed to help remove financial barriers to music education by providing musical instruments to Lake Orion Community Schools students who need one to participate in their school band program.

​

Every student should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of music education, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Through community donations, gently used instruments are collected, repaired or refurbished when needed, and placed in the hands of students who can put them to good use.

Have an Instrument to Donate?

Give your gently used band instrument a 2nd Chance! Instrument donations can be dropped off at:

• Orion Area Youth Assistance

• Any Lake Orion Community Schools building

• Orion Township Public Library

We prefer instruments that are in playable condition, but many instruments can be repaired or refurbished and given new life. We do not accept pianos, organs, keyboards, amplifiers, or string instruments such as guitars and violins.

Donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt will be provided.
