Summer Camp Scholarships
NOTE
Scholarship requests will be filled on a first- come, first-serve basis. Forms must be returned via fax, email, or mailed or dropped off at the CERC building.
Each year, Orion Area Youth Assistance sends dozens of our Orion youth to summer camps though our Summer Camp Scholarship program.
This critically important program provides a wonderful camp experience to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend camp.
OAYA receives applications from families who meet financial guidelines as well as referrals from school personnel and local leaders for students who could benefit from a summer camp experience.
Scholarships of up to $500 are given for camps such as:

Camps provided through Lake Orion Schools Enrichment Services

Orion Township Parks & Recreation camps
-
Camp Wonder at Howell Nature Center
-
Oakland University Camps
These camps provide many activities including those that promote teamwork, leadership, and social skills.
Funding for Summer Camp Scholarships includes an annual contribution of $5,000 from Charter Township of Orion. Other funding comes from donations from private individuals and local businesses.
Donations to our Summer Camp Scholarship program are greatly appreciated. The more funding we have, the more Orion kids we can sent to camp!
